Permanent Jewelry FAQ's
What exactly is GGF Permanent Jewelry?
GGF stands for Gypsy & Gem Forever — and that’s exactly what it’s all about. We custom-fit a chain of your choice, then connect the ends with a tiny jump ring and zap! it closed using a quick, safe weld. No clasp. No fuss. Just a beautiful, seamless piece that’s designed to stay on... well, ‘forever’.
What metals do you offer?
All of our chains are high-quality 14k gold filled, 14k rose gold filled, or sterling silver. They’re durable, hypoallergenic for most skin types, and made to last through all of life’s moments — the everyday ones and the extra-special ones.
What if I have a metal allergy?
If you have a known sensitivity to alloys, please be cautious. Our chains aren’t solid 14k gold, which means there’s still a small amount of alloy in the base metal (though it doesn’t sit directly on your skin). If your allergy is mild, you’ll likely be fine — but if it’s severe, we recommend skipping permanent jewelry just to be safe.
How much does GGF Permanent Jewelry cost?
We have sterling silver and gold filled chains and have bracelets that start at $50 and go up to $90. We also offer anklets and necklaces. We offer connectors and links as fun add-ons — those range between $20-$35. You can always view our current price list through our Linktree.
Where can I get GGF Permanent Jewelry?
The best place to find us is inside The Hickory Post in downtown Rock Hill, SC! This is where our retail shop lives and where you can book your appointment at https://calendly.com/gypsyandgem/30min and get your permanent jewelry in a boutique setting. You can also find us popping up all over SC and NC! We host multiple pop-ups every month at various local businesses and events — plus, we offer private parties if you’d rather make it a whole vibe with your crew. At the end of every month, we post the next month’s pop-up schedule and private party availability on Instagram and Facebook, so you’ll always know where to find us.
Do I need an appointment?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no — it depends on the event! If you are interested in visiting us in our store, then an appointment is definitely necessary! If a pop-up requires appointments, we’ll always note that clearly in our post. Even when we do take appointments, we still allow walk-ups — just keep in mind that appointments take priority.
How do I book an appointment?
Super easy! You can book your permanent jewelry appointment here. There is no extra fee for booking an appointment. We’ll see you soon!
Do you offer unisex or masculine styles?
Absolutely. We have a curated selection of less-dainty, more bold gold filled and sterling silver chains that are perfect for anyone who prefers a stronger, edgier look.
Tell me more about GGF Private Parties!
Grab your besties, your bridesmaids, your fam — whoever! If you’ve got 4 or more people, we’ll bring the full GGF experience to you. Private party hosts receive 20% off their piece, and if your group gets 8 or more pieces, the host’s jewelry is on us! If you’ve got a specific date in mind, just reach out and we’ll compare calendars!
What if my bracelet, anklet, or necklace breaks?
We get it — life happens. If your chain ever breaks or comes loose, send us a message or stop by an event. We’ll take a look and do our best to make it right. We stand by our craftsmanship and want you to love your forever piece for the long haul. For a re-weld, we charge $15 whether it’s a bracelet, anklet or necklace? Can’t find the chain? We’ll offer you a 35% discount on a new chain.
Does it hurt?
Nope! The weld happens in a quick flash and never touches your skin. Most people say it feels like... absolutely nothing. The only shock you’ll get is how much you love it once it’s on.
Can I remove it if I change my mind?
Totally. Just snip the jump ring with a pair of scissors or wire cutters and it’ll come right off. Pro tip: hang onto your chain! We can re-weld it for you later if you decide to bring it back. Or we can even put a clasp on that bad boy if permanent wasn’t really your thing anyways. We charge $15 for the clasp.
